We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
On September 29, in the framework of the Nasimi – Poetry, Art and Morality Festival, premiere of the play “Immolatio” (Sacrifice), authored by poetess Leyla Beyim and movie director Yefim Avramov, took place at the Maksud Ibrahimbeyov Creativity Centre.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva watched the play’s premiere.
The show is dedicated to two great thinkers who were born in the same year, living in various parts of the world – in the East and West, Azerbaijan and Czech Republic. Imadeddin Nasimi (1369-1417) and Yan Gus (1369-1415) had similar worldviews, ideas, and approaches to preservation and advancement of the mother tongue.
According to the play’s topic, young students from the Prague University are studying the creativities of Nasimi and Yan Gus. They think that, related to the Eastern and Western cultures, these two men of genius have addressed some appeal to future generations. On the basis of the play lies quest for this appeal, linking the 15th and 21st centuries.
Presented in the Azerbaijani and Russian languages, the four-act show is played by actors of leading theatres.
