Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.

The museum and the scientific and literary research section operating under the museum have been created in reverence for the writer’s memory, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of writer and scholar Mir Jalal Pashayev, an eminent representative of the Azerbaijani prose, Honoured person of science. The writer’s passport, orders and medals have been presented to the museum, commissioned in 2007. Now, these items are the most valuable exhibits of the museum.
The fact that the house-museum of Mir Jalal Pashayev is in Ganja is not by accident. Although he was born in the South Azerbaijan, the destiny brought him to Ganja city. The childhood, youth and student years of Mir Jalal Pashayev, his pedagogical and literary activities and family life are reflected in a chronological order in the museum’s exposition. At the moment, the number of exhibits preserved here is over 300. The scientific and literary research section started to function in the museum complex in 2009. Creation of the section aimed at conducting research works on our literature.
Presentations of books by poets and writers, meetings with city intellectuals, concerts, literature lessons for pupils and students, excursions and other literary and art events are taking place on a regular basis in the Mir Jalal Pashayev museum complex. Since the start of the museum’s operation, it has become a sanctuary for city residents, students and pupils.
