President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
An event entitled “The Night of Pain” took place in the Baku Congress Centre in connection with the 27th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, with organizational support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, February 26.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the event, organized in the framework of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly”.
Head of the Presidential Administration’s Department for Youth Policy and Sports Affairs Yusuf Mammadaliyev, MPs, and representatives of youth organizations attended the event.
First, the tragedy’s victims were commemorated.
Director of the Youth Foundation Farid Jafarov, deputy chairperson of the State Committee for the Affairs of Refugees and LDPs Fuad Huseynov, living witnesses of the Khojaly tragedy Asad Farajov and Valeh Huseynov spoke at the event.
Presentation of the feature-documentary novel “Pain”, dealing with the Khojaly genocide committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijanis, written by well-known expert for international relations Arie Gut and his father, writer Amir Gut, took place at the event.
At the end of the event, a documentary about the Khojaly genocide was shown.
An exhibition associated with the Khojaly genocide was also arranged in the foyer of the Baku Congress Centre.
