A match called “Baku 2019: Finals of Stars” took place before the Nizami Ganjavi National Azerbaijani Literature Museum, in the framework of series of events being organized in Azerbaijan in connection with Baku’s hosting the finals of the UEFA European League 2019.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his daughter Leyla Aliyeva watched the match.

Teams “Western Stars” and “Eastern Stars” competed at “Baku 2019: Finals of Stars”.

Such famous footballers as Yeju Dudek, Michael Essien, Anderson Luis de Souza (Deku), Hamit Altıntop, Andrey Arshavin, Revaz Arveladze, as well as local veteran-footballer Nazim Suleymanov and ambassador of the UEFA European League’s finals to be held in Baku Veli Gasymov participated in the match. Moreover, Shohrat Rahimov from the Regions’ League, Zaman Zahirzadeh, Mahammad Tanryverdiyev - chosen on the basis of the competition among fans, and Tural Dadashov, captain of ITV’s team - the winner of the Intellectual Cup dedicated to the Finals of the European League, were on the pitch during the match.

First, President Ilham Aliyev met with footballers participating in the match.

The cup of the UEFA European League was presented to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Then, photos were taken.

Thereafter, the match started.

An intensive sports competition ended with the victory of the team Western Stars, with the score of 11 to 10.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev met with fans, and was photographed with them.
