On May 3rd, a session on the topic “Increase in the ethnic and cultural diversity in the contemporary world and importance of multicultural policy in its regulation” was held in the framework of the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.

The session was arranged by the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre (BIMC).

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, member of the Patronage Board of the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre Leyla Aliyeva attended the session.

Head of the Department for International Relations, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Etibar Najafov moderated the event. He gave information about the multicultural environment dominating Azerbaijan.

Chairperson of BIMC’s Patronage Board Kamal Abdullayev, chairperson of the State Committee for Religious Entities Mubariz Gurbanly, president of the USA’s Ethnic Understanding Forum Marc Schneier, deputy chairperson of the Caucasian Muslims Department Fuad Nurullayev, head of Los-Angeles Christian Religion Centre, bishop Juan Carlos Mendez, advisor to the Columbian State’s Washington Law Association Janna Scott etc. delivered a speech at the event.

The event continued with discussions.
