Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
Inauguration of the Azerbaijani pavilion took place in the framework of the “Beijing Expo 2019” Botanical Exhibition, in the capital of the People’s Republic of China, May 14.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.
At the botanical exhibition, held on the topic “Let us protect the nature, to live better”, the Azerbaijani pavilion has been prepared with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Centre and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. The general concept of the national pavilion, called “Azerbaijan: harmony of nature and art”, demonstrates that Azerbaijan has been enjoying constant development, remaining loyal to its history and traditions. The spiral form of the pavilion signifies Azerbaijan’s sustainable and stable development, with the pomegranate tree on the exterior pointing to the country’s fruitful future.
The interior design of the pavilion demonstrates the country’s traditions. Through Azerbaijani carpets, close relations between art and nature are brought to attention, emphasizing the necessity of protecting the environment. The carpets displayed here are divided into four groups based on Azerbaijani carpet schools: Garabagh, Tabriz, Ganja-Gazakh, and Guba-Shamakhy. Carpet motifs characteristic of each region are reflected on the floor using special projection.
Moreover, an exhibit reflecting Kharybulbul flower is demonstrated in a digital format.
In the Azerbaijani pavilion, visitors may become acquainted with national music instruments, listen to Azerbaijani music through video materials, and watch our national dances. National garments of Azerbaijan are also presented here.
A landscape design has been prepared in the pavilion, based on the colours used in carpets, and plant species planted according to it. Here are also presented trees and flowers characteristic of the Azerbaijani nature.
A concert programme was presented at the ceremony by masters of art. Visitors listened to Azerbaijani music, watched dances.
Leyla Aliyeva became familiarized with the Azerbaijani stand in the framework of the conference “Asian civilizations’ dialogue”, where cultural heritage of the participant countries are demonstrated.
