Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the Haematology and Transfusion Research Institute named after B.A.Eyvazov.
Leyla Aliyeva met children being treated here, and talked with them.
Meeting the medical staff, Leyla Aliyeva became familiarized with children’s treatment, and the conditions created in the institute.
The institute currently consists of three sections: the clinic, the Central Blood Bank, and the scientific section. The clinic includes two haematology departments for adults, child haematology, resuscitation and intensive therapy, consultative policlinic departments, the clinical diagnostics laboratory, and the thalassemia prophylaxis department.
In the institute was also created a laboratory in 2017, within the State Programme, for conducting new immunohistological examinations. Through immunohistochemical examination, full differential diagnostics of malignant blood diseases, monitoring of target therapy are carried out, and prognosis of the disease is made. There is no need for patients to travel to foreign countries for the diagnosis and treatment of leucosis.
