“7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” TV project is launched

Presentation of a new TV project called “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan”, launched by joint support of IDEA Public Association and Nature and History Production, took place in Icherisheher, May 28th.

The objective of the project “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan”, first of its kind in Azerbaijan, is to strengthen the feeling of patriotism in the society, preserve our national, cultural and historical heritage, examine disputed and distorted facts of the Azerbaijani history, studying them on the background of historical monuments of the time, and draw the society’s attention to promoting, protecting and restoring historical, cultural and natural objects located on the country’s territory.

The project “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” has set for itself another task to stimulate advancement of local and foreign tourism, by promoting the historical, cultural and natural treasures both within the country and beyond its borders, as well as of the infrastructure on those territories.

Attended by Leyla Aliyeva, public and political figures, representatives of foreign embassies, people of science, renowned masters of culture and art, as well as people of other professions, the event was remembered with very interesting moments. Attributes reflecting our history, and specially made garments expressing our moral values, which were used in the decoration of the place, reflecting the project’s essence, drew attention in particular. Moreover, a model of a fortress made in the interior of the place and a large rock with human pictures on surrounds visitors entering the place with different senses, tuning them to the past.

Speaking at the event, head of Nature and History Production Hikmet Naghdaliyev, minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, deputy culture minister Sevda Mammadaliyeva, director of ANAS’s History Institute, academician Yagub Mammadov and chairperson of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev shared their views of the project.

At the end of the presentation, voting for the project “7 Wonders of Azerbaijan” was launched on the website “www.yeddi.az”.

Guests invited to the event then listened to the performances of an ensemble comprised of ancient music instruments.
