Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
Inauguration of another backyard took place in Baku in the framework of the project “Our Backyard”, being realized at the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva, aiming at improving backyards fallen into disrepair, July 8th.
Leyla Aliyeva participated in the inauguration of the backyard, and in the mass tree-planting action held during the event.
The renovated backyard covers buildings with 2000 residents at the addresses 46, 48, Moscow Avenue and 1, Javadkhan Street in Nasimi district.
While renovating the backyard, consideration was given to movements of disabled people and those with impaired health, and favourable conditions were created for the development of children of all age groups, 1 mini football pitch, 1 chess ground, sports facilities, a playground, 8 summer houses and benches were installed in order for juvenile to spend their free time efficiently.
Taking the wishes and interests of the residents, new illumination poles were installed, facades and entrances of the building repaired. Along with the restoration of existing greenery on the territory, 80 additional trees were planted and a greenery zone laid out in an area of 6 thousand square metres.
The backyard commissioned into residents’ use in the Nasimi district is the twenty fifth backyard renovated in the framework of the project.
