On August 5, an opening of the 31^st International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2019) took place in the Baku Congress Centre.

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

First, the state anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

Head of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farah Aliyeva read the congratulation letter by First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to the participants of the 31^st International Olympiad in Informatics.

Education minister, chairperson of “IOI 2019” Jeyhun Bayramov and rector of ADA University, ambassador, honorary chairperson of “IOI 2019” Hafiz Pashayev addressed the event.

President of the International Olympiad in Informatics, professor Greg Lee brought to attention the opening declaration of “IOI 2019”, and talked about the value of competing.
