We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
On September 18, another backyard renovated in the framework of the project “Our Backyard” of IDEA Public Association, aiming at improving backyards in need of repair, was commissioned for residents’ use.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the backyard and participated in mass tree-planting action.
With total area of 12,000 square metres, the backyard covers five 9-stotied and two 16-storied buildings, accommodating 2500 residents, at the addresses Lutfi Zadeh Street 10, M.Rustamov Street 21 and Sarajevo Street 19 of the Khatai district.
The primary objective of the project “Our Backyard” is to make backyards in Baku ecologically clean and improved, restore greenery that make up the backbone of the city environment, form a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable conditions for residents.
Easy movement of people with physical disabilities and impaired health status has been taking into account while renovating the backyard and, with a view to creating favourable conditions for the development of children of all age groups, the youth spending their free time efficiently and instilling in them the habit of engaging systematically in sport, a mini football pitch with artificial cover, a child playground were built and various sports facilities installed here.
At the same time, a cycling lane and 10 summer houses were built on the territory, a number of benches, litter bins installed, the ceremonies house in the backyard was renovated and provided with necessary equipment.
Taking into account the residents’ wishes and interests, new illumination poles were installed in the backyard, the buildings’ facades, roofs and entrances were renovated, and new metal doors and plastic windows were installed in the blocks. Along with restoring the existing greenery in the backyard, additionally, 100 trees and rose shrubs were planted and green areas laid out in an area of 4500 square metres.
The backyard commissioned in the Khatai district is the thirtieth backyard renovated in the framework of the project.
