Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On September 20, a photo exhibition entitled “Under the Single Sun”, dedicated to multicultural values of Azerbaijan, was inaugurated in the Seaside National Park.
The exhibition was realized with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Baku Media Centre.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the exhibition’s inauguration ceremony.
Photos of representatives of various peoples living in Azerbaijan, taken by professional photographers of the Baku Media Centre, are displayed at this exhibition. Authors of the photos exhibited here are Vugar Ibadov and Zaur Mirzayev, photographers of the Baku Media Centre.
The objective of arranging this exhibition was to once more demonstrate that a tolerant environment has been formed in Azerbaijan and, regardless of the religion, language and nationality, everyone can freely exercise his/ her rights and freedoms.
Enjoying the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Baku Media Centre produced, in 2016, a film entitled “Under the Single Sun”, in the framework of the “Multiculturalism Year”, which demonstrates the life, household, culture and art of 17 nations living in Azerbaijan. In the framework of the said project, employees of the Centre filmed residents of 54 villages and settlements in various regions of Azerbaijan, taking photos of 3850 landscapes reflecting the beauty of the Azerbaijani nature, and 2625 people of different ages, related to different ethnic groups, living in this beautiful nature’s lap.
80 photos selected among these photos are demonstrated at the exhibition.
