We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
On October 1, the closing gala-show of the 2nd Nasimi – Poetry, Art and Morality Festival took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.
First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.
Performances of Azerbaijan’s art figures, the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeir Hajibeyli, “Echoes of Centuries” Ensemble under the National Conservatoire, musicians invited from Turkey, Iran, Jordan and Morocco, jazzman from the USA Dan Tepfer, khanendeh Elsever Muradov were heard.
Moreover, the work “Lullaby to Stars” for the orchestra by composer Rahila Hasanova, and “Mosaic” composed by Ayaz Gambarli for the Nasimi Festival were presented to the audience.
Rich in elegant artistic and video design, the gala-show symbolically presented the world of poetry, art and morality, reviving the meeting of different times and cultures. Images of great poet Imadeddin Nasimi in different ages were also revived at the presentation.
Universality of Nasimi’s world of poetry, his spirit’s having the same tone with the contemporary time were demonstrated in the course of the programme.
The 2nd Nasimi – Poetry, Art and Morality Festival started on September 28. Realized with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Culture Ministry, the festival aimed at studying and popularizing the creativity of great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Imadeddin Nasimi, as well as tracing reflection of his thoughts and views in the contemporary world. In the course of four days, various directions of the Nasimi creativity were the focus of attention, with the great poet’s creativity and philosophy being reviewed through new interesting projects.
This festival coincided with the 650th anniversary of the poet. By the relevant Resolution of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the year 2019 was declared as “The Year of Nasimi”, to celebrate the poet’s 650th anniversary.
During the festival days, the Nasimi poetry and philosophical ideas of the great thinker were praised through various types of art and their harmony at the events held in Baku and Shamakhy, where the poet was born.
