A documentary dedicated to eminent poet Andrey Dementyev is presented at Nizami Cinema Centre

On October 15, a documentary called “One Life, One Love”, dedicated to eminent poet of Russia, honoured person of art, state prize-winner Andrey Dementyev, was presented at Nizami Cinema Centre.

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the event.

Speaking before the film’s presentation, famous journalist and film director Oleg Shommer talked about the poet’s life and creativity. Saying that Andrey Dementyev has always had nice impressions and knowledge of Azerbaijan, the movie director noted that he visited Azerbaijan several times. It was informed that Andrey Dementyev’s last visit to Azerbaijan was five years earlier, when he came to the country to participate in an event arranged on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov.

“While speaking at the said event, he was presented poems of a young poetess. Having read the poems, the poet said he very much liked them, saying the author of these poems is going to have a great creativity. Thus, first book of Leyla khanum, the author of these poems, was printed”, - noted O.Shommer.

Saying that new films would be shot in the framework of the joint cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the film director noted that each of these films would be presented independently. O.Shommer said the creativity of the great poet has always been shown attention in Azerbaijan.
