On November 19, ten parrots were released into the park located at Ataturk Avenue of Baku, with participation of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva.
Released into the park in the framework of IDEA’s project “Urban Ecology”, the ring-necked parakeet (Psittacula krameri) is a type of a parrot capable to live and breed in Baku’s climatic conditions.
The project “Urban Ecology” provides for enriching public places in Baku city and surrounding areas with animal and bird species capable of living and breading in an urban environment, as well as taking regular actions to preserve these species.
