We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
Famous exhibition hall of Berlin "Collectors room" has hosted an opening ceremony of modern Azerbaijani art exhibition Fly to Baku. The event, organized jointly by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany and magazine Baku International, involved influential figures of Germany, public figures and guests coming from different countries of the world.
Addressing the opening, Vice President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, editor-in-chief of magazine Baku Leyla Aliyeva briefed the guests on Fly to Baku. She noted that up to now the exhibition was held in different capitals, including London and Paris, and caused big interest.
The exhibition which is running in Berlin is very rich. It reflects almost all directions of the modern Azerbaijani art, and showcases 94 works of 21 artists.
Leyla Aliyeva noted that Azerbaijan, which today amazes the whole world with its rapid development and prosperity, has an ancient and rich history. Noting that the first democratic republic and the first opera in the East was created in Azerbaijan, Aliyeva said that Heydar Aliyev Foundation and journal Baku had done a lot to raise awareness of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is a country where different cultures, nations and religions live in peace as one family. We are very proud of this fact. There is no doubt that art is a significant part of Azerbaijans life and culture. I invite each one of you to Azerbaijan. Come and discover our country on your own," Aliyeva told the guests.
