Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On May 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, their daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the spring of Khan Gyzy in Shusha.
The head of the state and family members drank water from the spring.
President Ilham Aliyev said:
- Water comes down again from the spring of Natavan. We have restored the spring of Khan Gyzy Natavan. Last time, when I was in Shusha in January, I said we would restore the spring of Natavan. The spring will again be placed at the disposal of residents and guests of Shusha. Despicable enemy had drained this spring; they had drained all springs. This shows that Shusha has always been a strange city to Armenians. Now, Shusha is being revived, and Khan Gyzy Spring - one of the symbols of Shusha - has been restored. I drank water from this spring today.
