Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On December 28th, one more backyard renovated in the framework of the project “Our Backyard”, a project of IDEA Public Association aiming to improve backyards in need of renovation, was placed at residents’ disposal.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva participated in the opening of the backyard, including the mass tree-planting action during the event.
Special festivity was arranged during the event - which coincided with the eve of the New Year Holiday - for little residents of the yard, presenting children holiday gifts. Full of entertainment programmes, the festivity created pleasant festive mood in children, favouring them with moments full of joy.
The renovated yard covers apartment buildings with 1400 residents at the addresses 12, 14, 16, 18, Gara Garayev Avenue, 6, 8, Uzbekistan Street, 3, 5, Azer Manafov Street, 8a, 11, 15, Kamil Balakishiyev Street in Nizami District.
Provisions have been made in the renovated backyard to make sure disabled people and those with restricted health condition could move easily, and with a view to creating favourable condition for the development of children of all age groups, the youth’s spending their free time efficiently and instilling in them the reflex of systematically engaging in sports, a mini football and basketball pitches with artificial cover, a chess ground, a tennis table, various sports facilities, and a child playground were built, a fountain was created to make sure children can entertain themselves on hot days, and a 300-long cycling path was laid. At the same time, 11 summer houses, numerous benches, waste bins, bird nests and cat houses were also installed on the territory.
Taking into account residents’ wishes, new illumination poles were installed in the yard, façades and entrances of the buildings were renovated. Along with restoring the existing greenery in the backyard, 450 various types of trees and bushes were planted and a stripe of greenery was laid on a 4 thousand-square-metre territory. Surveillance cameras were also installed on the territory to ensure the security of the residents.
