President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
A Day of Azerbaijan and an Iftar table were arranged in Moscow on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Public persons, representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, 1000 Muslims of different nationalities attended the event “Ramadan Tent” arranged on Poklonnaya Gora on the initiative of the Moscow Muslims Ecclesiastical Department, the Russian Muslims Ecclesiastical Department, and the Moscow government.
Head of the humanitarian programmes of the Russian representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Tamilla Aliyeva thanked all the attendees of the event. She noted that arranging an Iftar table in the holy Ramadan month, in which the Holy Koran was revealed, has become a good tradition. Islamic values are an integral part of our national morality.

Attendees of the Ramadan Tent thanked Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva for highly appreciating religious and spiritual values.
A video film called “Spirit of Homeland”, prepared on the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, was shown. Pupils of the Moscow Muslims School read religious poems, and Azerbaijani students of the Moscow State Conservatoire performed works by Azerbaijani composers. Attendees of the ceremony were distributed Baku magazines.
Before the Iftar started, ayahs from the Koran and an evening prayer were read. Then, Muslims tried Azerbaijani national dishes and sweets.
The objective of arranging the Ramadan Tent, an essential project of the Russian Muftis Council, is to strengthen friendship among peoples and unite representatives of numerous peoples of Islamic faith living in Moscow.
The Russian representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation participates in this project each year, laying Iftar tables for believers.
