Following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, a Day of Azerbaijan was organized and an Iftar table laid in Moscow. 

A Day of Azerbaijan was organized, with the organizational support of the Religious Department of Moscow City Muslims, the Religious Department of the Russian Federation Muslims, following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in the “Tent of Ramadan”, assembled next to the memorial mosque at Poklonnaya Gora, and an Iftar table was laid. This year, an Iftar evening was dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. 

Over 1500 people, including public figures, representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and Muslims of different nationalities, attended the event. 

A letter of gratitude was presented to Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva on behalf of Moscow’s mufti, chief imam of the Moscow Juma Mosque Ildar Alyautdinov, for her high appreciation of religious and spiritual values. 

Deputy of Moscow’s mufti Marat-Hazrat Arslanov, thanking the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, told that the programme of these cultural evenings is very rich. People become familiar with the culture of Azerbaijan, which makes them wish to visit this country. Marat-Hazrat Arslanov presented an order of “Al-Fakhr” to Nizami Baloghlanov, the chairperson of the religious organization “Ahl-al bayt” in Moscow, on behalf of the Russian Federation Muslims Department. 

Director of the Muslim school under the religious community “Risalet” in Moscow Anas-Hazrat Mammadov congratulated all the attendees of the event on the Holy Ramadan, thanking the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the organization of this event. 

Video films were shown at the event about the history and traditions of Azerbaijan, mugham was performed by trio “Buta”, and students of the Muslim school presented small scenes about the life of  Prophet Mohammed. 

Ayahs from the Holy Qur’an and evening prayers were read before the Iftar meal started. Then, an Iftar table with meals and sweets from the Azerbaijani cuisine was laid for Muslims. 

Having been arranged since 2006, the annual social and charitable project “Tent of Ramadan” is implemented each year on the month of Ramadan, sacred for Muslims. The Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia attends each year this charitable project on the initiative of the Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva.
