Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, along with Arzu Aliyeva, President of the Baku Media Center, participated in a tree-planting campaign at “Ganjlik” Park in the Khatai district of Baku, organized as part of the Green World Solidarity Year.
During the campaign, organized with the support of the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, IDEA volunteers, and students from the European Azerbaijan School, 600 Eldar pines were planted.
"Ganjlik" park, established through the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, spans 43 hectares and features green belts, as well as recreational and entertainment areas.
Additionally, 20 squirrels bred at the Baku Zoological Park were released into the park as part of IDEA’s Urban Ecology project, which aims to preserve and restore urban fauna species. The release of the squirrels is intended to enable their natural reproduction within "Ganjlik" park.
