We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
MAMA "Mother Nature” International Art Project, calling for environmental protection, and "Participate!" exhibition have opened at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Head of IDEA Public Union, Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, along with family members participated in the event.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, launched MAMA "Mother Nature" International art project, as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The exhibition presented as part of the project is organized by IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Union and the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The exhibition "Participate!" featuring the environmental protection, is co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Swiss Association of Women and Empowerment – ASWE, initiated by Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, and Leyla Aliyeva, Head of IDEA Public Union.
Speaking at the event, Leyla Aliyeva expressed her confidence that the efforts undertaken in Azerbaijan as part of hosting COP29 would lead to many positive outcomes.
The Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation shared insights into pressing effects of climate change, highlighting severe consequences of air, soil and water pollution. Noting serious impact of climate change and pollution on Azerbaijan`s ecosystem, Leyla Aliyeva highlighted IDEA Public Union's dedication since its founding in 2011 to addressing environmental concerns.
Turkish artist Seval Özcan expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva for organizing such an impactful exhibition. Özcan highlighted the significance of hosting climate change-related events in Baku, particularly in such challenging times..
Valovaya in her video message, also expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva as well as the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Swiss Association of Women and Empowerment – ASWE, for their global efforts to combat climate change and achieve a greener world, and for the implementation of the two projects.
Furthermore, the participants viewed the MAMA "Mother Nature" and "Participate!" exhibitions.
MAMA "Mother Nature" international art project features works by 55 various artists from 28 countries, all united by a call to protect the planet for future generations through their art. The exhibition presents a total of 127 pieces, including digital installations, paintings, graphics and sculptures.
The exhibition "Participate!" focuses on environmental protection, raising environmental awareness and promoting eco-culture. The project aims to increase people's environmental awareness, involve children and teenagers in the environmental agenda, and support their eco-activity in popular formats.
