Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union in partnership with the Clean Air Fund organized a panel discussion titled "Clean Air for Children`s and Newborn`s Health” during COP29.
In her opening remarks, Leyla Aliyeva highlighted the potential contributions of the discussions to children's well-being.
Emphasizing that ambient air pollution is associated with death of millions of people every year, Leyla Aliyeva noted that global solidarity and the use of sustainable technologies play a crucial role in addressing this challenge.
Leyla Aliyeva shared details on Azerbaijan's initiatives, such as expanding the use of sustainable public transport and promoting hybrid and electric vehicles.
Mentioning the IDEA Public Union’s various projects, Leyla Aliyeva noted that over 5 million trees had been planted as part of the organization’s efforts over the past 13 years. Additionally, she mentioned that through the “School Gardens” project, over 20,000 trees have been planted at 300 schoolyards in Baku and other regions.
Attendees at the event included Teymur Musayev, Azerbaijani Minister of Health, Jane Burston, founder and CEO of Clean Air Fund and others.
