President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
An exhibition entitled “Great Deeds of Skilful Hands” comprised of handicrafts by residents of the Nizami District’s Children’s Home No.1 based on a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Museum of Modern Art was inaugurated.
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughters, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, and Arzu Aliyeva attended the inauguration held at the Museum of Modern Art.
Implemented following the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the exhibition displays, in general, 140 handicrafts of 30 talented children of 10 to 18. These samples of art were selected among over 300 works. Majority of these works has been exhibited in foreign countries.
Addressing the event, director of the Nizami District’s Children’s Home No.1 Narmina Zohrabova thanked the organizers of the exhibition.
Talking of the state care shown towards children in our country, N.Zohrabova emphasized the significance of such exhibitions in terms of discovering talented children.
Then the guests viewed the exhibition. Children’s handicrafts reflected the beauty of the Azerbaijani nature, tragedies our nation was subjected, ancient historical monuments, heroes of fairy tales and other subjects.
Wishing the children new successes in their creative activity, Mehriban Aliyeva inquired about their needs and gave her recommendations.
Then resident of Children’s Home No.1 Nahid Sariyev presented his work “Absheron” to Mehriban Aliyeva.
The exhibition will continue till January 28th.
