Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On September 27, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with dwellers of Children’s home No.1 in Nizami district, Children’s home No.3 in Khatai district and Children’s home No.2 in “Yeni Gunashli” residential community of Surakhany district of Baku, and enquired about their living conditions.
First Leyla Aliyeva visited Children’s home No.1 in Nizami district of Baku. Meeting with orphans and children deprived of parental care, Leyla Aliyeva viewed an exhibition of their handicrafts.
At Children’s home No.1, various study groups involving 60 children are functioning. Exhibitions of handicrafts of this children home’s dwellers have been organized in various countries. In addition, the children have also taken close participation in projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The children were presented gifts from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Then Leyla Aliyeva visited Children’s home No.3 in Khatai district of the capital.
90 orphans and children deprived of parental care aged 3 to 16 are residing here in 4 groups. Since its establishment, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has shown constant attention towards this children’s home. Supported by the Foundation, dwellers of the children’s home have participated in a number of competitions held abroad.
