President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with the delegation led by head of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) Mission Mohammad Ruigi, July 10. The Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva participated in the meeting.
Mehriban Aliyeva informed the guests of the multilateral activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Saying the Foundation has been active since 2004, Mehriban Aliyeva informed of a number of projects implemented by the Foundation in various spheres, especially in the humanitarian sphere. Underlining the close cooperation with the UN, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation noted that several projects have been implemented in cooperation with this organization. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed a hope this cooperation would be continued in future too.
Mehriban Aliyeva said the visit by the FAO delegation to our country will be a new step forward to extension of our cooperation. The Foundation’s President emphasized that the state of Azerbaijan was ready to support the activity of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. Mehriban Aliyeva noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation too is ready to cooperation as a non-government organization. The First Lady talked of the successful cooperation of the headed by her Foundation with a number of organizations, including UNICEF and UNESCO. Mehriban Aliyeva said she was confident such cooperation would be built successfully with FAO too.
Thanking for the meeting, Head of the FAO Mission Mohammad Ruigi said he highly assessed the works done both by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva. Matters like cooperation with the FAO headquarters in Rome, food safety, as well as establishment of special children’s institutions in this sphere were the subject of discussion at the meeting.
