Leyla Aliyeva visits boarding schools in Sabunchu and Absheron districts

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited Special Boarding School No.11 in Sabunchu district, October 29.

799 pupils are educated in the school, which was, in 2005, basically repaired following the initiative of the Heydar  Aliyev Foundation. 127 children out of them are with limited health condition.  In addition, 597 children from low-income families are educated at this school. 108 out of the schoolchildren being educated at this special boarding school stay here. 88 teachers and educators are engaged in the education of  pupils. Here, children participate in circles, and are engaged in various types of sport. Supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, pupils of the school have participated in sports and knowledge competitions organized in various countries of the world, and scored successes.

Then Leyla Aliyeva arrived at Special Boarding School No.7 in Saray settlement of Absheron district.

With support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, major reconstruction works were carried out here in 2010. The opening ceremony had been attended by Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The boarding school complex includes an administrative building, four-storied accommodation building, a sports building, a canteen, a kitchen, a laundry and other facilities. After the reconstruction, the boarding school has been provided with up-to-date inventory and equipment, and all conditions have been created for children’s normal residence. Boys and girls with mental disability aged 4 to 18 are admitted to this establishment. Currently there are 138 children in this boarding school. Individual sleeping and play rooms have been created here for each group. Trainings are conducted for children in need of special care. A small baking house has been put into operation in the courtyard of the boarding school. This will ensure that children are provided with quality bread and other floury products.
