President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
Within the framework of the 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum on October 31, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met heads and representatives of a number of mass media of the Russian Federation.
Having mentioned at the meeting that this was the third time that Baku was hosting an International Humanitarian Forum, Leyla Aliyeva said the Azerbaijani capital was the most convenient venue to hold this event. Saying “Tolerance in Azerbaijan is a lifestyle”, Leyla Aliyeva noted that holding of significant international events in our country has become a tradition. Leyla Aliyeva empathized that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia has great history, and the first representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation had been opened just in Russia.
At the meeting was noted that the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia, special care and attention shown towards the Russian language and literature in Azerbaijan and the Baku Branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University have contributed to the development of the relations between the two countries.
Noting that Baku was a very nice, clean and interesting city in terms of architecture, Russian guests said they will make trips also to regions of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, the works done by IDEA campaign launched following Leyla Aliyeva’s initiative was highly appreciated. Russian media representatives underlined that there were independent and professional mass media in Azerbaijan.
