President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
IDEA Campaign and World Wild Fund (WWF) of Russia signed a cooperation agreement in Moscow on October 12, 2012. The agreement aims at restoration of the populations of leopards and bisons in the Caucasus and protection of the nature of the region. The cooperation agreement was signed by Mr. Igor Chestin, the director of WWF Russia and Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva, initiator of the IDEA Campaign.
The cooperation agreement envisages development of interaction in the sphere of natural protection of Russia and Azerbaijan in such directions, as application and popularization of advanced environmental practices, technologies and standards, formation of environmental awareness of the population, expansion and creation of protected territories, as well as the development of programs for restoration of European bison and Middle Asian leopard.
The agreement signatories will prepare annual action plans in order to achieve the goals mentioned in the cooperation agreement which is valid for three years.
