The ceremony of signing the final investment decision on “Shahdeniz-2”, a new gas development, took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku, December 17.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

The Head of State addressed the ceremony.

Documents were signed after the speeches by Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Bulgaria Plamen Orisharski, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Croatia Zoran Milanovich, President of Montenegro Phillip Vuyanovich, Foreign Secretary of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland William Hague, Foreign Minister of Italy Emma Bonino, Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, European Union’s Commissar for Energy Issues Günter Ottinger, Acting Assistant Secretary of US  Minister of Energy Jonathan Elkind, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic Rovnag Abdullayev, BP Chief Executive Director Robert Dudly.
