Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
At the Administration of the Russian Federation’s Astrakhan Region, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva was solemnly presented the Order of Princess Olga of 3rd degree, December 20.
The Order was presented to Leyla Aliyeva by Metropolitan of Astrakhan and Gamizyag Iona.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Azerbaijani delegation that arrived in Astrakhan, and representatives of the region’s general public.
It should be mentioned that, by a resolution of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Cyril dated October 1, 2013, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the Order of Princess Olga of 3rd degree, for her support to erecting a monument to Prince Vladimir in Astrakhan, and for her services to strengthening the friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as on the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of Christianity in Russia.
Let’s note that women with certain services to church, state and society are honoured with this order. So far, chairperson of Russian Federal Assembly’s Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Latvia’s former president Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, and great princess Maria Romanova were awarded this order.
