President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
The Azerbaijan Youth Organisation of Russia (AYOR) organised a number of activities in Moscow to celebrate the New Year, and marking the Day of Solidarity With Azeris Around the World.
During the festive celebrations - which were organised with the involvement of the Head of the Russian Branch of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation & President of AYOR, Mrs Leyla Aliyeva – Azeri students gathered who are not only those studying in Moscow itself, but in cities all over Russia. Emin Gadjiev, a member of AYOR's coordination committee, passed Mrs Aliyeva's best wishes for the holidays to all of the Organisation's members. He was keen to point out that AYOR members play their part in all areas of life in Azerbaijan and Russia.
The next to offer their New Year greetings was Nigyar Akhundova - the Advisor on Humanitarian Affairs for the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia.
The rest of the evening's entertainment was taken up with a large number of games, contests and dancing.
The event was attended by representatives of Russian government agencies, members of Azeri Diaspora organisations, and staff of the Azerbaijan Embassy in Russia.
