The social project IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) – which is headed by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs Leyla Aliyeva – unveiled a new joint project with the Heydar Aliyev Centre – a socio-ecological competition called “My Eco Story”.  Entries for the competition stand the chance of becoming the story-line for filmed video stories based on ecological ideas.

The aim of the project is to give the general public more information about harm being done to the environment, and underline the importance of solving environmental problems by raising the profile of individuals in dealing with them.

According to the rules of the competition, each screenplay entered should be intended to make a video-clip lasting 3-5 minutes, and submitted in MS-Word format. The screenplays should be written in Azerbaijani, Russian or English, and must be written uniquely for the competition. Screenplay authors may only submit one entry for consideration, and entries will not be returned. Any entries which show elements of plagiarism will be automatically deleted from the selection process.

The Competition Jury will select the three best screenplays from those which are submitted. The authors of the three selected best screenplays will be given valuable prizes. The screenplay which is awarded First Place will be filmed as a social-media video-clip with the support of IDEA and the Heydar Aliyev Centre.

Anyone wishing to submit an entry to the competition should send their screenplay by email to  [email protected].  Entries are open from 15th June to 15th September 2014. Authors should enter “My Eco Story” as the subject title of the email, and attach their script to the email.

In addition to the screenplay itself, authors should attach some biographical information about themselves, in any form they choose – but they need to include their full name and contact details amid the information.
