We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
Foundation of a shelter for homeless animals was laid, at the initiative of IDEA Public Association, in Garadagh District, October 9.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva attended the event.
Leyla Aliyeva acquainted herself with the shelter’s design. The design provides for creating conditions for temporary or permanent living of homeless animals, dogs and cats in particular, functioning of a special veterinary clinic, and installation of necessary equipment for animals’ examination and treatment and, if necessary, carrying out surgery. Training and extension courses will function for veterinarians at the shelter. Experiences of other countries were used in designing of a shelter provided to accommodate up to 5 thousand animals, dogs and cats in particular. Examination and treatment of some animals rarely met in the city environment, like horses and some birds, will be possible at the shelter.
Leyla Aliyeva laid the foundation of the shelter.
The objective of creating this shelter is to reduce the number of homeless animals in Baku and surrounding areas, and prevent some infectious diseases.
