Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva attended, November 12, the opening of the World Parks Congress organized in the Australian city of Sydney by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The World Parks Congress is held once every ten years. To continue until November 19, this event is the 6th one. This assembly is devoted to sharing experience and knowledge associated with more efficiently managing and preserving the protected territories.
The event is attended by presidents of a number of states, ministers responsible for the protection of the environment and other high-level officials, as well as heads of international and regional organizations, well-known specialists, and representatives of leading non-government organizations.
Leyla Aliyeva will deliver a speech in a plenary session of the World Parks Congress about Azerbaijan’s experience in protection of the environment, and works done in this direction.
Within the framework of the event, Leyla Aliyeva is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings.
In the territory where the congress is held, a pavilion reflecting the activities of IDEA Public Association - a leading organization in the sphere of protecting the environment - is arranged.
