A 6-month report of “No Cutting Down Of Trees!” Programme being implemented jointly by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA, following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva, was published.
In accordance with this Programme, citizens encountering illegal cutting down of trees convey their complaints to IDEA Public Association through the hotline “First Aid to the Nature” (from all mobile operators and home phones - 1113). A mobile task force of IDEA, having arrived at places of incident based on the claims received, examined the situation and, having collected additional evidences about the violation, took necessary measures together with relevant state entities.
78 complaints were received by IDEA from Baku and Sumgait during the 6 months of 2014 in connection with illegal cutting down of trees. Every request was examined separately by IDEA Public Association and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and facts of violation were documented. Detailed information about the trees cut down and photos shot at the places of incident, as well as documents received from official entities were prepared in the form of a file and placed on the web-site (http://ideacampaign.org/first_aid_to_the_nature/) of IDEA Public Association.
Reports and protocols were made up by relevant entities in relation to natural and legal persons that have committed violation of law on the facts discovered and administrative penalties imposed, and official requests were sent to city and district executive authorities’ relevant entities and law enforcement bodies in order to take necessary measures.
