Presentation of the documentary “Birds Paradise – Aghgol National Park” from the series “9 Miracles of Azerbaijan”, a project by IDEA Public Association, took place at Nizami Cinema Centre, April 24. 

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

Before the presentation, Leyla Aliyeva acquainted herself with an exhibition comprised of photos shot by film director Igor Byshnyov during the shootings.

Delivering a speech at the presentation ceremony, Igor Byshnyov said “Birds Paradise – Aghgol National Park” is the second documentary filmed within the framework of the project “9 Miracles of Azerbaijan”. 

IDEA’s project “9 Miracles of Azerbaijan” provides for making an extensive documentary in 9 national parks of Azerbaijan. Within the framework of this project, the first documentary called “The Shirvan National Park” was presented to the public last year. The film has been demonstrated on local TV channels of Azerbaijan, as well as at international movie festivals. 

Shootings about Goygol, Shahdagh, Hirkan, Altyaghac, Zangazur, Absheron and Samur Yalama national parks are planned for the following years. 

IDEA Public Association intends to demonstrate the documentary “Birds Paradise – Aghgol National Park” at higher schools and IDEA’s resource centres. 

The objective of the project is to popularize Azerbaijan’s mysterious beauties and bring to attention the significance of their protection. 

During the presentation ceremony were also shown shots from the film “Goygol National Park”, where currently shootings are taking place.

Then demonstration of the documentary “Birds Paradise – Aghgol National Park” took place. Lasting about an hour, the film shows birds and animals inhabiting the Aghgol National Park, as well as its natural environment. The film includes also shots from the project “Protection, reintroduction and restoration of historical habitat of gazelles on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan” being implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
