A new exposition - a new project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation - opens on the territory of the State Flag Square. This is an exposition of “The 20^th – 21^st Century Azerbaijani Painting”, which covers a century-long development of Azerbaijan’s fine arts.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening of the exposition. 

Along with artists that have laid the foundation of easel painting, works by well-known coryphaeus and partly forgotten artisans are exhibited here. 

The exhibition describes such artistic directions as realism, modernism and postmodernism that differ from each other and gives a chance to become acquainted with bright, magical and inconceivable world of Azerbaijan’s fine arts.
