President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice –president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva became acquainted with the first permanent space of YARAT Contemporary Art Centre, June 8.

The new place of YARAT is located in a building, which had operated as a technical base for ships in 1960s and then was restored. As a result of the restoration, a two-storied luxury exhibition space has been created here. In this new space, where will also operate a new library, exhibitions to be held by YARAT and four temporary exhibitions of emerging movements by leading international artists will take place. The primary objective of the centre is to develop education programmes further and strengthen cooperation with international artists, auditoriums and institutes.
