President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the junction roads in the 4-6-kilometre-section of the Baku-Alat-Gazakh-Georgian state border road and underground pedestrian crossing in Bayil Boulevard, June 8.
The junction roads and underground pedestrian crossing have been built by “AzWirt” Limited Liability Company by an order of the Transport Ministry. Total length of the roads is 6630 metres. The number of the traffic lanes on some roads are 4, on others 5. The width of the traffic lanes is 3.5 metres.
While building the roads, 125 thousand square metres of asphalt was laid and 730 thousand square metres of land works done.
The Head of the State and the First Lady became acquainted with the underground pedestrian crossing built here.
8-metre-long, 4-metre-high and 226-metre-long underground pedestrian crossing will ensure safety of people coming to this area. The pedestrian crossing has been provided with a special equipment for disabled peoples’ easy movement. The pedestrian crossing has 4 exits. 8 elevators have been installed in the crossing. The underground pedestrian crossing will ensure safe movement of people toward Ahad Yahyayev Street, State Flag Square and Bibiheybat road.
