Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
A blood-donation action entitled “Blood has no nationality” was held in Moscow by the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) to mark the World Blood Donors Day.
Organized following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AYOR’s head Leyla Aliyeva, this humanistic action took place at the Clinical Transfusionology and Haematology Department of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
Some 100 students from Azerbaijan, Russia, Malaysia, Greece, Uzbekistan, Georgia and China participated in the action, which was a part of a project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on providing support to patients at Moscow’s healthcare establishments in need of blood transfusion.
The humanitarian action entitled “Blood has no nationality” is also held at high schools’ bases with medical profile in other regions of Russia. In addition, donor-students, by organizing large-scale medical aid work in Asian and African countries, provide support to those in need of blood in other countries too.
