On June 29, a meeting took place with our sportsmen that won at the 1^st European Games, their coaches, representatives of Azerbaijan’s sports society and foreign partners that have provided their services to the organization of the Games.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady, Chairperson of the 1^st European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva and family members attended the ceremony.

First, a video-film showing the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1^st European Games, most memorable moments of the competitions, including performances of the Azerbaijani sportsmen, was shown.

The Head of the State addressed the ceremony.

Then the awarding ceremony took place.

General Director of Baku-2015 European Games Operations Committee for operations Simon Clegg, Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, in their speeches, thanked the Head of the State for the active support provided to the high-level organization of the Games.   

At the ceremony, the Resolution of President Ilham Aliyev on conferring Mehriban Aliyeva on the Heydar Aliyev Order for her activity associated with the development of culture, education and healthcare in the Republic of Azerbaijan,  broad promotion of the  Azerbaijani people’s cultural heritage on an international scale, and great services to the organization of the 1^st European Games was read. 

The Head of the State presented the Heydar Aliyev Order to Mehriban Aliyeva.

Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.

Then a video-film describing victories of Azerbaijani sportsmen at the 1^st European Games, the moments when President Ilham Aliyev presented medals to winners-athletes was shown.
