We've been setting this exhibition up for nearly two years. I believe that its language – the language of Art – eloquently conveys the great accomplishments our country has made in all spheres of achievement.
“What? Where? When?” Intellectual Game was held with organizational support of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) and Azerbaijan-Udmurtia Friendship Public Centre regional entity operating in the Republic of Udmurtia, Russia, assisted by National Policy Ministry of Udmurtia.
Dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the intellectual game “What? Where? When?”, the game was hosted by Rovshan Asgarov and Dmitri Avdeyenko – winners of “Crystal Owl”.
Minister of national policy of Udmurtia Larisa Buranova, opening the event, thanked Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, AYOR’s chairperson Leyla Aliyeva for the activity of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the republic and for the support provided for the organization of the intellectual competition, and wished every success to the participants of the competition. She mentioned that representatives of 137 nations are living in Udmurtia. The Friendship Centre, which brings together Azerbaijanis in the region, has been operating for long, and is enjoying much influence among other national entities. The Centre holds different events, including socially oriented actions, and provides support to children’s homes and boarding schools.
Head of the Friendship Centre Zulfugar Mirzayev thanked Leyla Aliyeva for the care shown towards the activity of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Udmurtia. Z.Mirzayev presented diplomas and prize money to those distinguished in education.
17 teams from 16 national-cultural unions participated in the game held in “Drujba Narodov” Palace of Izhevsk, to test their knowledge. Azerbaijan was represented by “Land of Fire” and “Maiden Tower” teams.
Questions voiced by Rovshan Asgarov throughout the game related, basically, to history, art, cinema and literature. After the tense and interesting selection round, teams reaching the semifinals were announced. Winners were established after the second part of the tournament taking place in the form of a brain-ring: the first place was taken by “Kipij” team of the Jewish Cultural Centre, second place by “Minnats UR” team of the National Policy Ministry of Udmurtia, and the third place went to “Vse po GOSTu” team of the National Cultural Centre of Kryashens.

The minister thanked also Rovshan Asgarov, Dmitri Avdeyenko, member of AYOR’s management board Ayan Hasanova, head of Azerbaijan –Udmurtia Friendship Centre Regional Organization Zulfugar Mirzayev for the active participation in holding of the open tournament, and AZERTAG for the information support.
Songs “My Azerbaijan” by Parviz Mahmudov and “All or me” by Faig and Rauf Mirzayev brothers were performed at the event.
