Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) Leyla Aliyeva met head of the Russian Federation’s Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Sergey Pospelov in Moscow, November 5.
Discussions were held at the meeting on the possibilities of implementing joint projects on voluntariness and scout movements, environment, supporting talented youth and supporting the Russian language in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani language in Russia.
Leyla Aliyeva noted that all schools with the Russian language of teaching have been preserved in Azerbaijan. International events are held with participation of Russian cultural and art representatives. A memorial evening devoted to the 200th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov took place in Baku, and holding of a memorial evening of Sergey Yesenin is planned. Leyla Aliyeva emphasized that AYOR has allocated a special stipend for distinguished students studying at higher schools of Russia.
Sergey Pospelov, in turn, mentioned that Azerbaijani and Russian youths act from a single position in a number of international places, and this is rejoicing. She offered a help of the organizing committee’s volunteers corps on holding of F1 races in Sochi. This experience would be beneficial for the races to be held in 2016 in Baku.
Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov, advisors to the head of the Russian Federation’s Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Denis Zavarzin and Ilya Yarmanov, as well as member of AYOR’s Board Emin Hajiyev were present at the meeting.
At the meeting, the Parties reached an agreement on cooperation between the Russian Federation’s Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan and the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
