Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On November 15, the joint session “Business-20/Women-20” was organized within the framework of the Summit of G-20 held in Antalya.
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and the Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva attended the session.
A video trailer was first shown at the event dedicated to challenges of women-refugees.
Those making speech at the session said these problems have already become a global issue. Necessity of preventing issues requiring urgent action, along with their removal, was underlined.
Emine Erdoğan, the spouse of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in her speech noted that this event, organized within the framework of the Summit, would be a new standpoint in terms of solving women issues, especially women-refugees. Struggling against terrorism, situation in Syria, as well as refugees from this country were also touched upon. It was noted that women and children suffer the most from terrorist attacks committed in various places of the world. Unfortunately, this problems remains unsolved so far. The spouse of the Turkish President appreciated the Antalya Summit as a great chance in terms of providing support to solution of the problems of Syrian and Iraqi refugees.
Other speakers of the session talked about the necessity of the world nations’ joining their efforts towards removing the threat of terror, which has neither nationality, nor border.
