Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
IDEA Public Union has carried out a survey on Baku’s Fountains Square and in Park Boulevard Shopping Centre to see what citizens of the capital think about the homeless animals living in the city.
As is well known, the foundation of a care centre for homeless animals was laid in October 2014 by Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, in the territory of Garadagh district. Along with creating that centre - now under construction - examination of the issue regarding the increasing number of dogs and cats in the country, including carrying out of relevant surveys, is planned within the framework of the project.
Some 1500 respondents took part in the survey, carried out in the city centre.
To be continued over the course of two weeks, the survey is being carried out also in Yasamal, Binagadi, Nizami, Khazar, Narimanov and Nasimi districts of Baku.
