Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Leyla Aliyeva met, April 26, acting head of FAO machinery Mario Lubetkin and head of the organization’s office for partnership and coordination Melek Çakmak, who are attending the 7th Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations.
At the meeting was mentioned that the idea and purposes of the Forum held in our capital are of great importance today, and the significance of the issues raised and thoughts expressed at the Youth Forum held on April 25 within the framework of the event were emphasized. Leyla Aliyeva expressed her ideas with regard to protecting the environment.
During the talks, discussions were also held on such issues as worldwide combatting hunger, increasing the number of sturgeon in the Caspian Sea, and proper nourishment at schools.
