The 6^th round of the 42^nd World Chess Olympiad took place in the Baku Crystal Hall, September 8.

On the seventh day of the Olympiad, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, arriving at the Baku Crystal Hall, visited the halls where the competitions took place, and watched the games of the chess players.

Leyla Aliyeva first had a meeting with President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumjinov.

There was also a meeting with captain of the Russian men’s team Andrey Filatov.

Then Leyla Aliyeva made the first move in the match between world champion Magnus Carlsen, a member of the Norwegian team, and chess player from the Philippines Julio Catalino Sadorra.

Thereafter, she viewed the exhibition hall of the Olympiad.
