The greenery destroyed in the Narimanov District has been restored following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva.
A complaint was received, November 3, through “First Aid To Nature” Hotline of IDEA Public Union, from residents in connection with an illegal cutting down of trees at 25, Aliyar Aliyev Street in Narimanov District of Baku. Setting at once for the scene, specialists of IDEA established, together with officials of relevant state entities, that 2 trees had been cut down on the territory.
Following the initiative of the founder of IDEA Public Union, the territory was taken under control, with a view to restoring the greenery, and 9 cypresses and pine trees were planted at the same location. IDEA Public Union, the Narimanov District Executive Authority and the Baku City Landscape Gardening Organization participated in the tree-planting action.
Within the framework of the programme “No To Cutting Down Of Trees!”, a project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA Public Union, 235 complaints received from residents in connection with illegal cutting down of trees in the city of Baku were considered over the course of the last year, and works have been carried out towards their solution. As a result of the programme’s implementation, significant reduction has been observed in the cases of destroying greenery in the capital.
Over 5 million trees were planted on the country’s territory within the framework of the wide-scale tree-planting actions since IDEA Public Union’s establishment, along with taking preventive measures.
IDEA Public Union calls on all citizens to contribute to preserving greenery and inform of the cases of illegal cutting down of trees they encounter, using the Hotline created for this purpose (1113 – via all mobile and city phones).
