Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On May 27, an event dedicated to the 28th May – the Republic Day – was held with joint organization support of the National Aviation Academy and the ADA University.
First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the event.
Chancellor of the National Aviation Academy, academician Arif Pashayev, Chancellor of the ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Vice-chancellor of the ADA University Fariz Ismailzadeh spoke at the event.
Then head of the Johns Hopkins University’s Institute for Central Asia and Caucasus, historian-scholar, emeritus doctor of the ADA University, renowned jazzman Frederick Starr was invited onto the scene.
Jazzman Javan Zeynally and Honoured Artist Lala Mammadova performed at the event.
Then the stage was given at the disposal of the Louisiana Jazz band of the USA. The band was established in 1967 by Frederick Starr. Visiting Baku in the 1980s, Frederic Star performed on the same stage with Vagif Mustafazadeh.
Mugham was performed on banjo musical instrument at the event.
Mehriban Aliyeva met musicians of the Louisiana Jaz band of USA.
